NTelos Reports Strong Revenue Gains In 2012

HARRISONBURG — Waynesboro-based telecommunications company nTelos posted strong revenue gains in 2012.

According to the company’s fourth-quarter and year-end earnings report, nTelos (Nasdaq: NTLS) saw revenue increases of 11 percent in the fourth quarter to $117.4 million and 7 percent for the year to $454 million.

Fourth-quarter postpay net subscriber additions were 9,000 in the fourth quarter, compared to a loss of 1,900 in the same period. For the year, the company’s net subscriber addition was 25,100, compared to a loss of 17,900 for 2011.

The subscriber churn rate, or attrition rate, for the fourth quarter improved to 2.8 percent, compared to 3.4 percent in the same period in 2011. For 2012, the churn rate was 2.9 percent, compared to 3.5 percent the year before.
