I am responding to two recent letters. First is the assertion that she built a business by herself (“Obama Doesn’t Understand Behavior,” Sept. 3). If this is correct, I hope she did not use roads, the U.S. mail, the Internet or the other multiple resources offered by other private enterprises or the government.
This was President Obama’s point: To be successful all business people need resources they cannot provide, both public and private.
The second writer “can’t imagine how you can call BHO a Christian” (“Obama Hardly A Christian,” Aug. 31) However, President Obama has promoted policies that benefit those who are on the fringes of society, the precise group to which Jesus called us to minister. For example, the Affordable Health Care Act made health care accessible for many who badly needed it.
President Obama knows the wealthy have the resources to gain what they need, and that many other Americans do not.
