Ian Hoke, a James Madison University sophomore, braves the 20-degree cold to cast into Beaver Creek in Ottobine on Friday. The spring-fed Beaver Creek, a protected body of water, is open to fly-fishing only through strict catch-and-release restrictions with just four permits to fish there issued each day, Monday through Saturday. Because of consistent water temperatures of 50 to 60 degrees, brown, brook and rainbow trout can be caught year-round in the creek. (Photo by Jason Lenhart / DN-R)
