Rockingham Postpones Public Hearings

Supervisors Delay Evening Session Of Today’s Meetings

Posted: February 12, 2014

HARRISONBURG — Rockingham County has delayed public hearings scheduled for today’s Board of Supervisors meeting due to the threat of hazardous weather.

The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning in effect from 6 p.m. today to 6 p.m. Thursday for the entire Shenandoah Valley.

Snow accumulation of 8 inches or more is possible during that time, according to forecasters.

The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors is still set to hold the afternoon session of today’s meeting, which begins at 3 p.m. at the County Administration Center, 20 E. Gay St., Harrisonburg.

But the six public hearings, originally scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., will be postponed until the next supervisors’ meeting on Feb. 26.

The meeting two weeks from today will commence at 6 p.m., with the public hearings to be held after the board conducts its regular business.
