Friday Event Planned For GOP's VP Nominee
HARRISONBURG — Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan plans to stop in the central Valley for a rally Friday.
A campaign official with GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney confirmed Tuesday evening that the event would be held at 2 p.m. at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds, with doors opening at 12:30 p.m.
The former Massachusetts governor tapped Ryan, a tea party favorite, as his running mate last month.
Friday’s event, billed as a “Victory Rally with Paul Ryan,” is open to the public but tickets are required. They can be obtained at www.mittromney.com/states/Virginia.
Ryan, 42, is a seventh-term congressman representing Wisconsin’s 1st District in the House of Representatives.
