Shame On Driver Who Hit Pomeranian

Posted: January 25, 2013

On Jan. 16, at about 6:47 p.m., a dark sedan was driving on Market Street and hit a Pomeranian on the corner of Market and Myrtle streets.

The person who was in the sedan did nothing to prevent hitting the dog, and after he hit her, he did not stop. My friend stopped, took the dog off the road and called the police. The police officer said they did not have a policy for this situation.

My rescue friend put the sweet-looking dog in her truck and took her to an animal shelter to see if she had been micro chipped so she could tell the family.

I know accidents happen, but it seemed like the person did not slow down to prevent the dog from being killed. This was someone’s pet who was loved. If you know who you are, shame on you!
