Spotswood Girls Head To State Championship

The Spotswood girls advanced to the Group AA, Division 3 basketball championship game with a 70-57 win over Monticello Tuesday at Virginia Commonwealth University's Siegel Center in Richmond.
The Blazers, who also captured the Valley District and Region III, Division 3 title, will play the winner of Tuesday afternoon's contest between Region IV champion Richlands and Region I winner Brunswick. The state championship game will be played at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Siegel Center.
Bailey Williams had 20 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, five steals and a block to lead SHS. Tayler Dodson scored the 1,000th point of her career during the win for the Blazers.
