HARRISONBURG The 21-year-old James Madison University student who fell from the roof of a fraternity house on Saturday is in stable condition today, according to a University of Virginia Medical Center spokeswoman and Harrisonburg police.

According to Cpl. C.T. Miller of the Harrisonburg Police Department, Elizabeth Vincent, a senior from Onley on Virginia's eastern shore, was taking pictures atop the roof of the Delta Chi house at 715 S. Main St. when she fell at 1:44 p.m. on Saturday.

She was transported to Rockingham Memorial Hospital before a medical helicopter took her to the U.Va. medical center in Charlottesville.

Miller said police had not determined what may have contributed to the fall. Students were gathered at the fraternity in advance of Saturday’s football game, which kicked off at 3:30 p.m.

Vincent is a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority.
