Suspect In AutoZone Heist Still At Large
HPD Probes Saturday Armed Robbery
HARRISONBURG — Investigators with the Harrisonburg Police Department continue to search for a man who robbed a downtown business over the weekend.
Officials have not released any new information into the Saturday night robbery, including whether they’ve identified a possible suspect.
Sgt. Jason Kidd of the criminal investigations division said Tuesday that the incident in the AutoZone at 340 N. Mason St. remained under investigation.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, officers received the call about the armed robbery that took place at the vehicle parts store.
Police have described the suspect as “a skinny male,” approximately 5 feet, 9 inches. During the robbery, he was wearing light colored jeans with a camouflage hooded sweatshirt pulled tight over his head.
He also had a “black ski mask with a camouflage mask over top” and was wearing sunglasses, officers have said.
Police have not disclosed what weapon the suspect used or what items were taken from the store.
