HARRISONBURG — A New Market woman accused of embezzling about $130,000 from a Harrisonburg dental office will have a two-day jury trial on the charges in December.
Jeannie Braithwaite, 42, appeared in Rockingham County Circuit Court on Thursday.
A trial was set for Dec. 11 and 12 on five embezzlement charges related to accusations that she stole from her former employer, Dr. Anna-Marie Boggs.
“These sort of cases can be time consuming,” Judge Thomas Wilson said.
On Dec. 11, a date will be scheduled for a sixth embezzlement charge related to an alleged theft of $5,000 from one of Braithwaite’s relatives who lives in a nursing home.
Wilson granted a motion Thursday to separate the two embezzlement cases.
Court records say that the alleged embezzlement at the dental practice happened from January 2011 to May 2013.
A grand jury indicted Braithwaite in April.
