TSSI Founder Strang Named Paul Harris Fellow
HARRISONBURG — The Rotary Club of Harrisonburg has recognized a city businessman for his contributions to the humanitarian relief effort in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
Bill Strang, founder and chief executive officer of Tactical and Survival Specialties, was named a Paul Harris Fellow at a recent meeting of the club, according to a news release.
Named for one of Rotary’s founders, the honor is given to someone who portrays excellent service or humanitarian contributions.
After Hurricane Sandy devastated parts of the Northeast last fall, Strang saw the potential for TSSi to assist with recovery efforts, the release says.
The Harrisonburg-based tactical equipment company worked as a collection center for donated goods and packaged them for shipping to areas heavily damaged by the storm.
