HARRISONBURG — Roadwork and maintenance will affect several roads in the central Shenandoah Valley beginning next week.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, drivers on Va. 42 in Rockingham County can expect shoulder closure and intermittent lane closures with flagger control between Va. 257 and Va. 746. Crews will be repairing a slope in the area.
Utility upgrades along Church Street in the town of Timberville begin Monday, with intermittent lane closures and flagger control between Main Street and East Riverside Drive between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Crews will also be trimming trees on various secondary roads in Rockingham and Page counties. Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures with flagger control.
In Shenandoah and Rockingham counties, crews will be cutting trees and repairing fence along Interstate 81 between mile marker 247 and 291. Work will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
