City Sewer Tests To Start Tuesday

HARRISONBURG — The Harrisonburg Public Utilities Department will begin a series of sanitary sewer system tests Tuesday in neighborhoods along Reservoir Street.

The tests evaluate city-operated sewer systems, in addition to residential plumbing, a news release says. Residents should expect to see smoke released from rooftop plumbing vents.

Testing will take place in several neighborhoods and subdivisions, including Hillmont Apartments, Avalon Woods, Foley Road, Cooper Beech Townhomes and Breckenridge Court.

Anyone with questions may contact Public Utilities at 434-9959. Testing should conclude by Nov. 30.
