Bateman is the daughter of Jeff and Sue Bateman of Darnestown, Md., and Harper is the son of Randy and Donna Harper of Port Republic.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, Md. She earned a bachelors of science degree from James Madison University in 2007 and a masters of science in 2008.
She is employed as a third grade teacher at Newton Lee Elementary School in Ashburn, Va.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Spotswood High School in Penn Laird. He earned a bachelors of science degree from James Madison University in 2008.
He is employed as an image engineer with Lockheed Martin in Crystal City, Va.
Missy Bateman, sister of the bride, of Fayettville, N.C., was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Whitney Harper, sister of the groom, of Harrisonburg; Kimberly Ianucci of Charlotte, N.C., Danielle Altieri of Garden City, N.Y., and Ana Bateman, sister of the bride, of Darnestown, Md.
Cole Smith of Arlington was best man. Ushers included Tim Driver of Holly Springs, N.C., Steve Marconi and Chris Brandlein, both of Arlington, and Mikey Bateman, brother of the bride, of Darnestown, Md.
Gillian King, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
After a trip to the Mediterranean, the couple resides in Darnestown, Md.
