HARRISONBURG — When offensive guard Earl Watford plays in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 19 in St. Petersburg, Fla., he’ll make a little history — no other James Madison football player has ever taken part in the all-star showcase.

The East-West Shrine Game was first played in 1925 and is the nation’s longest-running all-star game.

Watford, who has been named to four Division I-AA All-America teams, has also been invited to the NFL combine.
