Allen Not The Man For The Senate
Posted: October 15, 2012
From this newspaper’s endorsement of George Allen, one would think that Allen, like President Obama, can wave his magic senatorial wand and make all things right (“Allen For U.S. Senate,” Oct. 6).
Allen is but one senator out of 100. His job is to speak and sway others to do those things needed. Allen isn’t that personable.
I almost met Allen at a fundraiser for another candidate, but because I was old and probably not rich enough, he walked around me. I held out my hand and he ignored it. Is he an ageist? Or is he only wanting the very rich (I’m not poor) to vote for him?
