C’Ville Routs H’Burg, 78-51
 
HARRISONBURG — Senior guard Darius Watson scored 17 points, making five 3-pointers, to lead Charlottesville High School to a 78-51 win over Harrisonburg in a non-district boys’ basketball game Saturday.

The Black Knights improved to 8-10; the Blue Streaks dropped to 7-10.

Senior guard Seth Kardos led Harrisonburg with 22 points.

Senior point guard Isaiah Green put in 16 for Charlottesville.

Harrisonburg Girls 38: Charlottesville 29: Junior forward Sydney Knupp scored 14 points to lead Harrisonburg High School to a 38-29 win over Charlottesville in a non-district girls’ basketball game Saturday in Charlottesville.

The Blue Streaks improved to 7-7; the Black Knights’ record was not available.

River Frazier led Charlottesville with 11 points, but the Blue Streaks held the Black Knights to just nine points in the second half.

Lynchburg Men 74, EMU 67: Austen Arnold had 18 points and six rebounds off the bench to lead Lynchburg to a 74-67 win over Eastern Mennonite University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Saturday in Lynchburg.

The Hornets improved to 16-3 overall, 7-3 in the ODAC; the Royals dropped to 11-8, 4-6.

Lynchburg outscored EMU 19-3 over the final seven minutes.

Dajon Daniel led the Royals with 14 points.

Guard Matthew Hunter led BC with 14 points – 10 from free throws. He was the only Eagle to reach double figures.

EMU Women 74, Roanoke 46: Jess Rheinheimer scored 17 points off the bench to lead Eastern Mennonite University to a 74-46 win over Roanoke in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday in Salem.

The Royals, who have won six straight, improved to 13-5 overall, 9-1 in the ODAC; the Maroons dropped to 8-11, 4-6.

EMU reserve Raiven Patterson scored 13 points in just 15 minutes and Shakeerah Sykes added 10 points off the bench.


BC Women 78, Emory & Henry 56: Senior center Katelynn Hottinger had 17 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks to lead Bridgewater College to a 78-56 win over Emory & Henry in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Nininger Hall.

The Eagles improved to 9-8 overall, 6-4 in the ODAC; the Wasps dropped to 7-11, 4-6.

Senior guard Jessica Mullen led all scorers with 20 points, and Holly Morgan added 18 for the Eagles, who forced 36 E&H turnovers.
