Lam, Eagles Beat Draft, 54-44

STUARTS DRAFT – Senior guard Jessica Lam scored 17 points to lead East Rockingham High School to a 54-44 win over Stuarts Draft in a Shenandoah District girls’ basketball game Friday in Stuarts Draft.

The Eagles extended their win streak dating back to last year to 39 games and improved to 11-0 overall, 5-0 in the district; the Cougars dropped to 5-6, 2-3.

Senior center Meghan Nicholson chipped in with 12 points and senior forward Sarah Cameron added 11 for ERHS.

Senior forward Katelyn Bergey scored a game-high 19 points for Draft.

The Bulldogs improved to 9-4 overall, 2-2 in the district; the Gladiators’ record was not available
Senior guard Adrian Henry had 12 points and sophomore guard Jordan Dudley added 10 for Luray.

Carly Casto led Riverheads with 16.

Page Girls 42, Stonewall Jackson 37: Senior guard Caitlin Viafora had 11 points to lead Page County High School to a 42-37 win over Stonewall Jackson in a  Shenandoah District girls’ basketball game Friday in Shenandoah.

The Panthers improved to 7-5 overall, 2-3 in the district; Stonewall’s record was not available.

Senior forward Hannah Stout led Stonewall with 13 points.

Page went 9-for-9 from the free-throw line.

Stuarts Draft Boys 100, East Rockingham 76: Guard Jamal Simpson scored 29 points to lead Stuarts Draft High School to a 100-76 win over East Rockingham in a Shenandoah District boys’ basketball game Friday in Elkton.

The Cougars improved to 2-8 overall; 2-3 in the district; the Eagles dropped to 6-6, 3-2.

Senior forward Jordan Thacker added 22 points, including four 3-pointers for Draft.

Senior guard Tyler Hensley led East Rock with 22 points.

The Panthers improved to 9-3 overall, 5-0 in the district; the Generals dropped to 4-5.

Senior guard Kol Shuler added 12 for the Panthers.

Sophomore guard Ryan Smith led Stonewall with 11 points.

Pendleton Boys 58, Pocahontas 38: Senior guard Logan Raines had 16 points and six rebounds to lead Pendleton County High School to a 58-38 win over Pocahontas County in a Potomac Valley Conference boys’ basketball game Friday in Franklin, W.Va.

The Wildcats improved to 3-4 overall, 2-1 in the PVC; the Indians dropped to 1-4.

Junior forward Evan Arrington had 15 points, six rebounds and five assists for Pendleton.

Sophomore Corey Robertson led Pocahontas with 16 points.
