— Dajon Daniel had 19 points, six rebounds and three steals to lead Eastern Mennonite University to an 81-65 win over Elizabethtown in a non-conference men’s basketball game Friday at Yoder Arena.

It was the season opener for both teams.

Andrew Thorne had 18 points and seven rebounds for EMU, and R.J. Sims had 13 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals for the Royals, who shot 50 percent from the floor (30-of-60).

Joe Schwalm led Elizabethtown with 18 points.

EMU Women 90, Kean 56: Steph Rheinheimer had 15 points and six assists, and Alisa Brown and Jess Rheinheimer each added 14 points to lead Eastern Mennonite University to a 90-56 win over Kean in a non-conference women’s basketball game Friday in Grantham, Pa.

It was the season opener for both teams.

Shakeerah Sykes had 10 points for EMU, which shot 46.8 percent (37-of-79) from the floor and had 25 assists.


Marymount Women 73, Bridgewater 57: Katelyn Fischer scored a game-high 23 points and had seven assists and four steals to lead Marymount to a 73-57 over Bridgewater College in a non-conference women’s basketball game Friday in Arlington.

It was the season opener for both teams.

Jessica Mullen led BC with 18 points, and Katelynn Hottinger added 16 points and six rebounds for the Eagles, who shot 41.7 percent from the floor (20-for-48) but had 26 turnovers. Marymount shot 49.1 percent (27-for-55) and had 27 turnovers.


Dukes Rally To Make CAA Semis

TOWSON, Md.
— Danielle Erb had a career-high 26 kills and 30 points to lead sixth-seeded James Madison to a 21-25, 22-25, 25-23, 29-27, 15-7 win over third-seeded Northeastern in the Colonial Athletic Association volleyball quarterfinals Friday.

The Dukes (13-15) will face No. 2-seed Delaware in the semifinals today at 4 p.m.

Erb also had 16 digs for JMU, which lost the first two sets to the Huskies (20-7).

The title match is scheduled for Sunday at 5 p.m. at Towson University.
