STUARTS DRAFT — Zach Sauder hit a 3-pointer with 3.1 seconds left in overtime to lift Stuarts Draft High School to a 113-112 win over East Rockingham in a Shenandoah District boys’ basketball game Tuesday.
The Cougars improved to 9-9 overall, 8-4 in the district; the Eagles dropped to 11-9, 7-5.
Guard Jamal Simpson hit a tying 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation and scored 31 points for Draft, which made 16 3-pointers.
Senior guard Tyler Hensley scored 32 points, senior forward John Wright had 25 and sophomore Logan Lam had 21 for East Rock, which had just 1 3-pointer among its 50 field goals.
