Candace Sipos is correct that records from the 16th century are rarely complete (“Standing the Test of Time,” Sept. 8). But Friedens Church was founded in 1762, during the 18th century, 162 years after the 16th century concluded.
And yes, “details come into sharper focus” in the 18th century. However, she provides information on the construction of a social hall in 1985 as evidence of 18th century activity. The 20th century is certainly not the 18th.
