HARRISONBURG — It’ll still be Christmas all year long at Snow and Ice, but the store is beefing up its nonseasonal selection as part of an expansion.

The store, at 4080 Evelyn Byrd Ave. across from the Martin’s supermarket, doubled its showroom space this summer to about 3,700 square feet.

Snow and Ice, which opened in August 2011, added room by reconfiguring the multiple-tenant building’s layout and moving into an area that Bridal Impressions had been using.

Dustin Kline, the store’s owner, said the extra space will allow for an expanded selection of “everyday gifts” and product lines, including collectible coffee mugs, American-made pillows, wall hangings and more.

“Now that we had extra space we’ll be able to provide more gifts,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of customers asking for that.”
Outside the holidays, he said most shoppers looking for Christmas-themed gifts are tourists, so the store is expanding its product offerings to attract more local shoppers.

Snow and Ice will continue to offer Christmas decorations — ornaments, figurines, lights and more — throughout the year.
