Posted: January 5, 2013

HARRISONBURG — The city will collect Christmas trees to be recycled next week.

Rockingham County residents, meanwhile, can take trees to different collection points through Jan. 31 for recycling.

In Harrisonburg, crews will collect undecorated trees from curbs Monday through Friday. Residents can place trees along the curb on the regularly scheduled day for yard debris after Friday.

County residents can recycle their trees at the following locations through the month’s end: Bergton Road refuse transfer station; the Mayland Road facility in the Broadway area; a recycling center on Old Spotswood Trail west of Elkton; the Grottoes maintenance facility at Sixth Street and Elm Avenue; 10748 Waggys Creek Road in Dayton; and the Rockingham County Landfill at 2400 Grassy Creek Road just south of Harrisonburg.
