College Indebtedness An Injustice
Posted: December 3, 2012
We Americans have such a respect for education, and for learning in all kinds of ways, and yet throw cruel obstacles in the way of millions who seek it!
One of our newspapers, The Wall Street Journal, reported that millions of students have gotten so strapped by their loans that they’ve had to drop out of college.
You may just yawn and say, “Well, I know all about that! Members of my family — my own brother and his wife — were thrown into bankruptcy and had to drop out. They’re still under that mountain of debt!”
And as the Journal pointed out, millions of people have suffered in this way. Because more and more people are trying to go to college these days (that’s the good part), but many are forced to leave, still under that mountain of debt, and that’s a great tragedy!
But the question for us as fellow citizens is this: What shall we do about this terrible injustice?
