HAMPDEN-SYDNEY — Curran Blackwell scored in the second minute to help Hampden-Sydney defeat Bridgewater College 3-0 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men’s soccer match Saturday.
The Tigers improved to 5-9 overall, 4-4 in the ODAC; the Eagles dropped to 9-5, 5-3.
Leo Kowalski and Robert Stephens also scored for the Tigers, who outshot the Eagles 18-11.
Lynchburg Men 3, EMU 0: Daniel Jobrack, Chaz Ashton and Tajee Harley scored to lead Lynchburg to a 3-0 win over Eastern Mennonite University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men’s soccer match Saturday in Harrisonburg.
The Hornets improved to 4-6-4 overall, 3-1-4 in the ODAC; the Royals dropped to 7-8-1, 4-4.
EMU has now lost five of its last six.
Lynchburg had a 22-7 advantage in total shots.

The fifth-ranked Marlins improved to 13-0-1 overall, 8-0-1 in the ODAC; the Eagles dropped to 9-4-1, 6-2-1.
Virginia Wesleyan scored all three of its goals in the first 47 minutes to take a 3-0 lead, before BC made a late push.
JMU Men 1, Delaware 1: Tom Fouhy scored his third goal of the season to help James Madison tie Delaware 1-1 in a Colonial Athletic Association men’s soccer match Sunday in Harrisonburg.
JMU is now 5-5-3 overall, 3-1-2 in the CAA: Delaware is 3-8-3, 1-2-2.
Fouhy scored on a header from a Christian McLaughlin corner kick in the 50th minute, and then Delaware’s Mark Garrity snuck a shot inside the right post to tie the score roughly 25 minutes later.
