Victim Found In Dutch Mill Court Apartment This Morning

HARRISONBURG — The Harrisonburg Police Department is investigating the death of a man found this morning inside an apartment on Dutch Mill Court, according to a statement from HPD.

Police are not releasing the victim’s name until his family is notified of his death, the statement from Mary-Hope Vass, the city’s public information officer.

It’s not clear how the man died or if police suspect foul play.

But HPD’s Criminal Investigations Division is working to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the man’s death and are asking the public for help.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the department’s anonymous tip line at 574-5050. Tipsters may also provide information by texting “HPD” to 274637 (CRIMES).

Officers found the man at about 8:30 this morning at the Dutch Mill Court apartment complex off Reservoir Street. Police were responding to a call about the man but it’s not clear who notified them or if anyone else was with the man at the time police arrive.
