Discipline Erased For Boy Who Pointed Finger
Posted: February 19, 2013
The boy had been suspended from Minnieville Elementary School in Woodbridge for “threatening to harm self or others.” That's an offense in the same category as bringing a real weapon to school.
The Washington Post (http://tinyurl.com/aqg353s ) reports that the school's principal wrote a letter to the boy's family that said the disciplinary removal would be referred from his school records.
The family and a lawyer representing them declined to provide a copy of the letter because they said it was critical and mentioned issues outside the incident.
The second-grader pointed his finger like a gun after another child pretended to shoot him with a bow and arrow.
