Egotistical Pols, Evangelists Wrong On Sandy Hook
Posted: January 18, 2013
This letter responds to the scores of Valley Christians who believe the Sandy Hook shootings are a punishment from God.
Select Christian politicians stir up the same controversy, a la Michelle Bachmann claiming Muslims are free to worship in school, but Christians are not. Mike Huckabee recently said tragedies are due to the “systematic removal of God from schools.”
Federal law dictates that any student can practice any religion they want to in school. It is disgusting that something this tragic in nature is being blamed on the lack of a communal prayer, instead of a mentally disturbed young man with easy access to semi-automatic rifles.
It is this widespread false logic that displays the sheer narrow-mindedness and egotistical nature of some evangelists and politicians.
