Fear The Lord, Or Else

I give a big Amen to the article by Jeff Moyer (“We Turned Our Backs On God, Now He Reciprocates,” Jan. 15).
Please, let me give a couple of Bible verses to back up his statement. Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God, and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil.”
It doesn’t matter how popular a person is — movie star, musician, politician, or what his IQ is. If that individual scoffs at God’s word, he is asking for and will receive his judgment.
As for “separation of church and state,” that our newspapers like to quote, the phrase does not have the same criteria that our founding fathers had set forth, but we let that go over our heads and live like an ostrich.
Read the last two chapters of Lamentations. It happened to Israel. Are we better than them?
