FISHERSVILLE — Senior forward Sarah Cameron scored 19 points to lead East Rockingham High School to an 85-55 win over Wilson Memorial in a Shenandoah District girls’ basketball game Tuesday.

The Eagles improved to 17-0 overall, 10-0 in the district, and won their 45th straight game, dating back to last season; the Green Hornets dropped to 10-6, 7-3.

Senior guard Jessica Lam added 15 for ERHS.

Junior forward Kahla Mawyer led Wilson with 18 points.

Broadway Girls 56, Waynesboro 42: Senior forward Heather Cantrell scored 14 points to help Broadway High School beat Waynesboro 56-42 in a Valley District girls’ basketball game Tuesday at WHS.

The Gobblers improved to 13-2 overall, 7-1 in the Valley; the Little Giants fell to 5-13, 4-4.

Junior forward Brianna Zook added 11 points for BHS, while junior guard Madyson Alger had 10, sinking three 3-pointers.

For Waynesboro, Brie Moore scored 17 points.

The Indians improved to 13-3 overall, 5-2 in the district; the Knights dropped to 2-14, 1-7.

Junior Devon Byrd scored 12 and junior Megan Good added 11 for the Indians.

Freshman guard Sydney Sheffer led TA with four points.

Draft’s Lewis Sinks Luray

STUARTS DRAFT — Senior Mayzie Lewis converted a three-point play with about two seconds remaining to lead Stuarts Draft High School to a 38-36 win over Luray in a Shenandoah District girls’ basketball game Tuesday.

The Cougars improved to 10-6 overall, 7-3 in the district; the Bulldogs dropped to 11-7, 4-6.

Lewis, who scored the game-winner on a short runner in the lane and then added a free-throw for good measure, finished with a game-high 12 points.

Junior guard Sable Ponn led Luray with nine points and 11 rebounds.


Buffalo Gap 70, Page County 48: Junior forward Abby Erskine scored 17 points to lead Buffalo Gap to a 70-48 win over Page County High School in a Shenandoah District girls’ basketball game Tuesday in Swoope.

The Bison improved to 4-12 overall, 2-8 in the district; the Panthers dropped to 7-10, 2-8.
