Gun Violence Must Be Addressed

Now is the time to have serious conversations about gun violence and to work for peace in our communities.

Gun violence has reached epidemic proportions in our country. It does not have to be this way. We can work together to create healthy communities of care. One step is to reduce gun violence. Please help me by asking our members of Congress to take these common sense actions.

Support reauthorizing the ban on assault weapons and the proposed ban on high-capacity ammunition and begin the discussion of the reforms that will stop straw purchases from flooding our streets with illegal guns.

I hope we will have the courage and wisdom to address the culture of gun violence.
