CROZET – Senior forward Meghan Nicholson had 17 points to lead East Rockingham High School to a 61-39 win over Chancellor in a non-district girls’ basketball tournament game Thursday at Western Albemarle High School.
The Eagles improved to 2-0; the Chargers dropped to 0-1.
Senior guard Jessica Lam added 16 points for the Eagles, who will play the winner of Covenant and tournament host Western Albemarle at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Luray Boys 64, Warren County 47: Junior forward Malcom Frye had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six steals, leading Luray High School to a 64-47 win over Warren County in a non-district boys’ basketball game Thursday in Luray.
The Bulldogs improved to 2-0; the Wildcats dropped to 0-1.
Sophomore guard Keaton Seal had 11 points and 10 assists, and senior guard Braden Cook and senior center Thomas Mallalieu each added 13 points for LHS.
Senior forward Matt Nicholson had a game-high 22 points for WCHS.
Luray Girls 64, James Wood 45: Junior forward Sadle Ponn had 25 points and 12 rebounds, propelling Luray High School to a 64-45 win over James Wood in a non-district girls’ basketball tournament game Thursday in Strasburg.
The Bulldogs improved to 2-0; James Wood’s record was not available.
Freshman guard Katie Keyser added 17 points for Luray.
Page County Girls 42, Madison County 33: Senior guard Caitlin Viafora, freshman guard Hannah Henry and senior forward Makayla Smith each had nine points, lifting Page County High School to a 42-33 victory over Madison County in a non-district girls’ basketball game Thursday in Shenandoah.
The Panthers improved to 2-1; the Mountaineers dropped to 1-1.
Junior guard Chandler Gentry scored 13 points for Madison.
