Happy Birthday, Rev. Graham

One day after Americans went to the polls and re-elected President Barack Obama, one American had something to celebrate. The Rev. Billy Graham turned 94 years old.
Mr. Graham has been a respected and trusted adviser and confidante to presidents going back to an ill-fated meeting with President Harry S. Truman. He repeatedly met with President Eisenhower for instance, and he has been known, thanks to his proximity to the Oval Office, as the “pastor to Presidents.” He was especially close to Richard Nixon, and officiated not only at the late president’s funeral but also at that of his wife, Pat.
According to The Chrisitan Post, Mr. Graham is a little nonplussed about his longevity. “I never expected I would live this long, outliving my beloved wife Ruth as well as many friends and loved ones,” Mr. Graham told the CP. “I believe God must still have a purpose for keeping me here, and I look forward to seeing what that might be.”
Mr. Graham isn’t the only one who looks forward to seeing what that might be. So do the millions of Americans who have come to know him as a familiar face and Godly guide.
