Flames Rout Gaels
LYNCHBURG – Junior guard Aaron Bergman scored 19 points, sinking four 3-pointers, to lead Eastern Mennonite High School to a 63-36 win over Holy Cross in a Virginia Independent Conference boys’ basketball game Thursday.
The Flames improved to 2-6 overall, 1-1 in the VIC; the Gaels’ record was not available.
Freshman guard Luke Burns added 12 points for EMHS, which made nine 3-pointers.

EMHS Girls 35, Stonewall Jackson 33: Junior guard Lauren D’Agostino made a layup with one second remaining, lifting Eastern Mennonite High School to a 35-33 win over Stonewall Jackson in a non-district girls’ basketball game Thursday in Harrisonburg.
Both D’Agostino and eighth-grade forward Lauren Weaver had 10 points for the Flames (5-3).
Guard Rhea Lett scored a game-high 15 points for the Generals.
