Williams Leads SHS
 
CROZET — Senior point guard Bailey Williams had 16 points, 11 steals and 10 assists to lead Spotswood High School to a 60-36 win over Charlottesville in a non-district girls’ basketball game Thursday in a tournament at Western Albemarle High School.

The Trailblazers improved to 7-0; the Black Knights fell to 5-3.

Junior forward Tayler Dodson had 16 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists for SHS.

Broadway Girls 56, Hidden Valley 46: Senior forward Heather Cantrell had 16 points to lead Broadway High School to a 56-46 win over Hidden Valley in a non-district girls’ basketball game Thursday in a tournament at Cave Spring.

The Gobblers improved to 6-1 overall; the Titans’ record was unavailable.

Junior forward Brianna Zook added 14 points for BHS, and junior guard Madyson Alger had 10 points.

Freshman guard Hailey Singleton led Hidden Valley with 20 points.

EMHS Girls 55, Blessed Sacrament Huguenot 41: Junior guard Alex Black had 20 points, five rebounds and two assists to lead Eastern Mennonite High School to a 55-41 win over Blessed Sacrament Huguenot in a non-conference girls’ basketball game Thursday in a tournament at Covenant in Charlottesville.

The Flames improved to 4-2; the Knights fell to 5-2.

Lauren Weaver, an eighth-grade forward, added eight points for EMHS.

Senior forward Katie Clarke led BSH with 20 points.
