Millbrook Edges TA Girls, 45-44
 
BRIDGEWATER
— Guard Brenna Cook scored 22 points to lead Millbrook High School to a 45-44 win over Turner Ashby in a non-district girls’ basketball game Wednesday.

The Pioneers improved to 6-1; the Knights dropped to 0-6.

Freshman forward Sarah Wood scored a team-high 13 points for TA, which had a possession in the final seconds but couldn’t get up a shot.

East Hardy Boys 64, Pendleton 54: Senior forward Tyler Mongold had 21 points, lifting East Hardy High School to a 64-54 win over Pendleton County in a Potomac Valley Conference boys’ basketball game Wednesday in Franklin, W.Va.

The Cougars improved to 1-1 overall, 1-0 in the PVC; the Wildcats dropped to 1-1, 0-1.

Junior forward Evan Arrington had a career-high 27 points along with five assists for Pendleton County.
