It’s Official: Newsome’s Back

HARRISONBURG — Curt Newsome is officially back at James Madison University.

 

JMU announced Saturday night — in a long-expected move — that Newsome has been hired as its football team’s assistant head coach and offensive line coach, returning to Madison for a second stint.

Newsome takes over for Chris Malone, who was fired in December.

 

The 54-year-old Newsome, a close friend of JMU coach Mickey Matthews’, spent the past seven seasons as a Virginia Tech assistant.
