Christmases Past: Reflections On The Holidays
Posted: January 4, 2013
Will “Silver Bells” never again be heard in the streets of America? As children, mom took “us kids” Christmas shopping in downtown Harrisonburg.
As we walked down the street from one store to another, the storefronts were bright with Christmas lights, and carols wished “Joy To The World” to all the shoppers.
Until recent years, shopping centers, malls and trees that lined the street were decorated with Christmas lights. It was a happy time.
But then, suddenly, in one year the lights were gone. Shopping centers now look forlorn.
What power could intimidate merchants, from the biggest to the smallest, so they would be afraid to display Christmas lights?
What kind of power can control buying and selling?
Non-Christians should be alarmed. If the dominant religion of this nation can be suppressed, what will you do when they come for you?
