More Guns Means Less Safety

Many letters support the outright lies told by the National Rifle Association. More guns do not make for more safety.
This has been proven many times. A gun in the house increases the possibility of an assault by about five times. The idea that being armed will prevent a government takeover is pure fiction and a product of a fear campaign promoted and financed by the NRA and the gun industry.
Don’t let fear mongering overrule common sense, reason and proven statistics that more guns mean more violence. Check it out in Japan, England, Scandinavia, and most of Europe.
