UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area today.

Residents living in elevations above 1,500 feet should expect 1  to 2 inches of snow with 2 to 4 inches along ridges above 2,500 feet, according to the advisory.

The snow will be moderate throughout the day and taper off during the afternoon, wrapping up around 5 p.m.

As a result of the snow, Shenandoah National Park is reporting that Skyline Drive will be closed today.
