VWC Beats Royals: Astorga, Marlins Top EMU, 70-65
HARRISONBURG — Senior forward Chris Astorga scored 15 points as second-place Virginia Wesleyan held off Eastern Mennonite University 70-65 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Wednesday at Yoder Arena.
The Marlins improved to 16-6 overall, 11-2 in the ODAC; the Royals fell to 13-9, 6-7.
Seniors Andrew Thorne and Owen Longacre each scored 12 points to lead the Royals, who cut the deficit to four points twice within the final two minutes. EMU’s Dajon Daniel had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Eagles improved to 13-9 overall, 7-6 in the ODAC; the Hornets fell to 3-19, 0-13.
