Posted: January 25, 2013
Police arrested a Mount Jackson man this week on a slew of charges, including assaulting a police officer.
Around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Shenandoah County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 6000 block of Senedo Road in Mount Jackson for a report of a domestic dispute, said Lt. Wesley Dellinger, with the sheriff’s office.
“Deputies arrived along with the New Market Police Department and the individual was obviously intoxicated,” Dellinger said.
Charles Neal Ownby, 59, of Mount Jackson, was arrested, Dellinger said, after assaulting one of the officers. He also was charged with drunk in public, obstruction of justice and assault of a family member.
Dellinger said no one was taken to the hospital or seriously injured.
Ownby is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on Feb. 8.
