Slavery Still Exists — Time To Abolish It For Good

Posted: February 25, 2013

Instilled within the hearts of every true American citizen is a fundamental belief in freedom, which is a basic principle upon which this great nation is founded. Slavery did not end in the 1800s. Within our society and even within our own community, there is a sinister threat mounting against this fundamental right.

Slavery exists today and is the second largest criminal industry in the world. Some 100,000-300,000 young children are trafficked every year in America.

Many are unaware of this atrocity, but I believe every American citizen has a duty to fight this war for the liberty of our fellow human beings. People can take a stand by raising awareness, advocating for stronger punishments for offenders, and getting involved with prevention and restoration programs that are so desperately needed to stop this horror.
