SNP, Skyline Drive Reopens After Storm
Posted: November 5, 2012
HARRISONBURG — Skyline Drive and all Shenandoah National Park facilities are now open.
More than a foot of snow fell in parts of the park last week as the storm front associated with Hurricane Sandy passed through the region, leading to the closure of the scenic Skyline Drive roadway and loss of power at park lodges.
The National Park Service, however, is still advising hikers to be cautious of ice and snow-covered trails and other debris.
