Victim Hospitalized After Early Morning Incident

HARRISONBURG — A woman was arrested over the weekend for stabbing a man early Saturday morning in Harrisonburg.

Erica Whitelow, 35, of Harrisonburg, was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, a felony, said Cpl. Philip Wonderley, of the Harrisonburg Police Department.

Whitelow is accused of stabbing a 40-year-old man from Harrisonburg.

The victim was transported to Sentara RMH Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

“I haven’t called the hospital to confirm, but I am pretty sure he was released,” Wonderley said.

The name of the victim was not released.

The incident took place outside along Madison Street at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, according to police. Nobody else was arrested.

Madison Street is just north of downtown Harrisonburg, between Jefferson Street and Ashby Avenue.
