Word had it that while Santa Claus was on a practice run for his Christmas Eve trip, a bag fell from his sleigh and dumped candy canes all over Harrisonburg’s Westover Park. The city’s Parks and Recreation Department had the perfect solution to get all that candy cleaned up: A candy cane hunt! Dozens of kids showed up to take part in Saturday’s hunt, which included prizes for those who found one of the striped treats.
