United We Stand, Divided We Fall

The re-election of President Obama revealed distinct demographic fissures within American society. This notwithstanding, the true test of a nation’s character is the ability to heal and recover from adversity.

Unquestionably, the last four years have been painful for many. However, the beauty and grace of America is her ability to heal and become better than before injury.

Most of us are aware of various historical narratives that have not always shown America’s best side. This is also true regarding our personal lives. Fortunately, we learn to heal, recover and do extremely well. As a nation, we also can do the same.

President Obama has a tough row to hoe. Generally, second terms are not rosy in the White House. The advice of a well-known and respected Jewish carpenter seems appropriate: “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
