Sydney Camille Yazdani and Cody Dewayne Hawkins were united in marriage Nov. 17, 2012, at the historic American Hotel in Staunton, Va. Marlin Eller officiated. The ceremony and reception were both held at the hotel.
 
The bride is the daughter of Alexander Yazdani of Pataskala, Ohio, and Susan Agee Yazdani of Riverview, Fla. Sydney is a graduate of Homestead High School in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and received her undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. She is currently employed with Rosetta Stone in Harrisonburg, Va.
 
The groom is the son of the late John Hawkins, and Heidi and Eric Shifflett of Harrisonburg, Va. Cody graduated from Harrisonburg High School and is currently attending Blue Ridge Community College, pursuing a career in criminal justice. He is employed by PetSmart in Harrisonburg.
 
The bride was attended by her sisters Natalie Tidwell of Hamden, Conn., and Heidi Kauffman of Owings Mills, Md., as well as the groom’s sister, Amanda Hawkins of Harrisonburg.
 
The groomsmen were Derek Chaudhuri, Chase Spurhan and Trenton Shifflett, brother of the groom, all of Harrisonburg. The flower girl was London Tidwell, niece of the bride, and the ring bearer was Grayson Kauffman, nephew of the bride. The wedding coordinator was Mary Jo Roden of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and her assistant was Bryce Altizer of Riner, Va., cousin of the bride. The program attendant was Hannah Altizer, also cousin of the bride from Riner, Va.
 
The bride wore a white, strapless, floor-length satin gown with ruching at the waist. Her veil was short and bird-cage netted. She carried a satin-wrapped bouquet of white flowers, punctuated with orange and purple flowers.
 
The groom wore a black suit with purple vest and tie, as did the groomsmen and the ring bearer. The bride’s attendants wore purple tea-length satin dresses with deep orange shawls and shoes for accents.
 
The flower girl wore a floor-length white dress and carried a natural handwoven basket with flowers. The ring bearer carried a satin pillow.
 
After honeymooning in Cancun, the couple reside in Harrisonburg.
