Dukes Beat Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Senior guard Tarik Hislop scored 24 points, making a career-high four 3-pointers, to lead James Madison past Hofstra 68-60 in a Colonial Athletic Association women’s basketball game Sunday.
The Dukes improved to 17-8 overall, 11-2 in the CAA; the Pride fell to 12-12, 8-5.
JMU sophomore forward Toia Giggetts added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Dukes, who held off a late surge by Hofstra with a 13-5 run in the final 2 minutes and 57 seconds.

HARRISONBURG – Junior guard Steph Rheinheimer scored 14 points and junior forward Bianca Ygarza had her fourth double-double of the season as Eastern Mennonite University beat Hollins 73-66 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Yoder Arena.
The Royals, who earned a school record-tying 12th straight win, finished the regular season 19-5 overall, 15-1 in the ODAC; Hollins fell to 9-16, 4-12.
EMU has the No. 1 seed and a first round bye in this week’s ODAC tournament.
BC Women 69, Roanoke 67: Junior guard/forward Molly Shelley knocked down a game-winning jumper with 10 seconds left to lift Bridgewater College to a 69-67 victory over Roanoke in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Saturday in Salem to conclude the regular season.
The Eagles improved to 14-10 overall, 11-5 in the ODAC; the Maroons fell to 10-15, 6-10.
Junior guard Holly Morgan led BC with 20 points. Junior guard Paxton Gwin paced Roanoke with 31.
Bridgewater is the fourth seed in this week’s ODAC tournament and has a bye in the first round.
