DAYTON — Montezuma scored in each of the final four innings to rally past Broadway and win 6-5 in walk-off fashion in Rockingham County Baseball League action on Wednesday at Ruritan Field.
For the Braves (6-3), Devante Rose homered in the sixth and Owen Stewart scored on an error in the seventh to setup Stewart’s game-tying two-run single in the eighth. Montezuma won it in the ninth when Brandon Lambert came across to score on another error by the Bruins (5-4), who made four costly errors in the game.
Kyle Armstrong earned the win in relief for Montezuma while Cole Holsinger took the loss for the Broadway.

JMU Picks Up Commit
HARRISONBURG — James Madison football picked up its first commitment of the 2020 recruiting class on Wednesday when Stone Bridge (Ashburn) defensive end Mikail Kamara made his pledge during a visit to the school, he told the Daily News-Record later in the day.
Kamara said he had 10 scholarship offers before picking the Dukes over FBS Kent State.
A Virginia High School League Class 5 All-State second-team choice as a junior, Kamara racked up 72 tackles and 16 sacks last year.
